Saturated Canary first time!

I just recently found this digi store named the Saturated Canary.  WOW.  I love these images.  They are so beautiful and fun to color with my copics.  I used multiple different punches and dies for this card including Martha Stewart, Fiskars and Spellbinders x 3 kinds.  On the castle's punch I glued on some sand and for the bucket, scoop, and shells I colored them in with smooches. The clouds background was embossed with my clouds embossing folder (even if it's hardly noticeably in this picture) and the bottom was with the cuttlebug's swirls folder.  I recycled some beads I had from an old necklace for a half border.  I also used some fun Popsicle stickers from my stash.

Dream

Bonjour mes amis! Good morning ladies.  I hope everyone woke up on the sunny side of the bed like I did.  I am feeling pretty excited today cause I will be hanging out with my sister after work and we always have fun. Yea! I am also bringing some green salsa I made in my brand new Vitamix.  I love this blender and so excited in the recipes my husband and I have already made.  I am so excited to share my salsa tonight with my sister.

This image is from Instyle and called Sitting Kyla.  Isn't she just soooo cute! She was colored with copics and her wings were colored with smooth translucent.  I added plenty of glitter with stickles.  I used a stampin up border punch on the left side and embossed my background with a cuttlebug folder named Swirls (one of my personal favs).

These are the challenges I'll be following:

Little Miss Muffet: Loads of Layers
Paper Makeup Stamps: Things with Wings
Paper Playtime: Say it with sentiments
There She Goes: Winged Things
Bunny Zoes: Girls Girls Girls

Hope you enjoy Kyla as much as I did!  Have a great day!!

Dare to be Different

Good day my favorite people! Today's card was created with Doodle Pantry's Branch Birds 2 and of course colored with my favorite copics! I used spellbinders label's 13 and used various punches for clouds, leaves, branches, and butterflies.  I also used some of my favorite embellishments... pearls!  I love these pearls.  I stopped buying them in colors so I could just color them with my copics to match everything I do!

Here's a bit of a close up of the bottom half.

If you guys don't know, I just started this blog 3 weeks ago and man... I am having so much fun.  I am loving doing this.  Sharing cards and ideas with people is so much fun! It got me back on track to making cards too.  I have to give a special thanks to Marilyn who gently nudged me to do this.

Summer Fun!

Today I created a summer card! I have been really excited to color this image since the first time I laid eyes on him.  He is from Tiddlywinks and can be found here.   The image was colored with copic markers and then I added some light glitter and clear applique for dimension and shininess!  I used Martha Stewart's beach shell's border punch and Spellbinders Pennants dies for my punches for the The Corrosive Blog Challenge.  The background is embossed with clouds and I cut one out for added dimension.  The water for my image was cut out twice and put up on dimensionals as well.  I added faux stitching to the pennants and to the teal blue background piece and last I added some of my favorite embellishments, clear dew drops.  I hope the pictures will convey all the sparkly and shiny parts of the card.

This card was entered in the following challenges:

Faux Leather

Today was the last day of the season for card class. Booo!  Last year I hung out with these lovely ladies once a month, learned new techniques, and of course spent money!  Unfortunately this year I could only go a few times due to work, but just had to make it to the last class before summer hit.

Today's project, which was taught by our usual crafting Goddess, Shirley, was a father's day card with faux leather.   Here is a link to Splitcoaster's tutorial if you are interested in trying it out.   This class was super fun because just like Shirley had been wanting to try this technique out for many years, so have I.  I even had the purchased the masking tape long ago and just this past weekend noticed it and realized I hadn't even removed it from the wrapper.  Typical crafting hoarder over here. LOL.

The lion was colored with my aqua painter and the grass was colored in with SU marker.

I was also excited to get home so I could use an embossing folder with animal print on the red cardstock so as it has not been used yet.  What a great day!

This card was entered into the following challenges:
Tammy's Scrapin Corner: For the Boys
Flourishes: Father's Day theme
Kenny K's:  Animals
Used it Tuesdays: All about dad
Celebrate the Occasion: Father's Day

Cupcake Birgitta

This week I created this card from All That Scraps Cupcake Birgitta.  I just love these adorable Swiss Pixie images.  Birgitta was colored in copics and the embossing folder is from the company Darice.  I used liquid pearls for the teal cupcakes and white applique for the small cupcakes on the right.  I also cut out the cupcakes Birgitta is holding and placed them on pop dots.

This card was entered in the following challenges
Party Time Tuesdays:  Sparkles, Jewels, Bling, and Shine
All that Scraps-Anything goes
Crafting for all Seasons: Many layers
Deconstructing Jen: Sketch

On another note I noticed over the weekend that Polycraft is unfortunately closing down very soon. *Sad* But you should head over there to get over 100 digi's for 15$ while they are still around. What an amazing deal.

Story time Birthday

This card was created for my husband's birthday.  He is an avid reader, reading anything in sight.  The image was colored with copics and the couch was paper pierced.  I used smooch transparent glitter on the book, distressed edges, faux pieced, used many pearls (the black ones are colored with copics) and used several nesties for the bottom of the tilted easel.  I knew I wanted to make my husband something book related because I got him a Kindle for his birthday.  It took me a long time to find this image and now that I have this image named Storytime.

Twisted easel card folded up.

Thanks for stopping by,

Nicole

Kenny K - Design Team Call

I am so excited to announce that I will be throwing my hat into the ring in Kenny K's Design Team Call.  It's the first time I have done this so I am very nervous, but excited too!  I've looked at the competition and the women and men alike are amazing!

Lucious Linda is colored in with copics.  This was a birthday card for my husband and the red background (which is actually cut out of from a heart valentines box my awesome hubby gave me years ago)  is cut out with nesties labels # 4.  The ribbons and the rhinestones are from my large stash.  Linda's boots have been covered in clear applique as were the buttons on her corset.  The cute cupcake also has applique on it, but in white.   The background paper was distressed in many colors, but it started out white, white, white.

I have also added a couple extra Kenny K's cards that I have done and all of which have never been posted previously, mostly because this is my first week blogging!

The first one is Alice Chains.  She is a sexy domanatrix type.  She is fun to color.

The card below contains the wonder Devilish Devastatia.

This image includes Rock Chick (far left), Vicki Lee Vicious (center) and Star (Far right).  I entered these images into a software named Inkscape.  This was one of my first tries merging images together.

I hope you have enjoyed today's post,

I'll see you next week.

Gorgeous Girl!

For today's card I used Sugar Nellie's Gorgueous Girls stamp.  These stamps are quite honestly some of my favorite images to color.  I just love, love, love these girls.

I bought these girls online from Funky Kits, based out of the UK.  I used the rubber stamp image named   sitting for today's card.  Isn't she just adorable!

I love making unique card types which is why the is the tri-shutter card is awesome!  Please see Splitcoast for an awesome tutorial to make your own.

The flowers are Prima Flowers and the borders were cut out of a cuttlebug embossing set to which I only kept the borders, so the name is unknown.  All the paper is from Stampin Up.

Check out the fun micro beads up close!  I have had these in my collection for YEARS and never used them. I liked how they turned out.

Here is my favorite video of the week and be prepared to grab your kleenex.

Thanks

Nicole

Giddy-Up!

This is a Rootin' Tootin' male birthday card!

This easel card was created with the Rootin' Tootin Cowboy by Karen's Doodles and was colored with copics.  I used Spellbinders label's #9 to cut out the image and it's background.  The back top half of the card was embossed with the Perfect Details texture plate by Stampin Up.

I used some blue brads from my stash.

The sheriff badge was created with my cricut.  Then I embossed it many times in gold embossing powder then when the gold looked silky smooth and still hot I placed a Stampin Up stamp on it to heat emboss the image which says Happy Birthday on it. Afterwards I dabbed some black ink in the stamp image to make it stand out more.

Hope you have enjoyed this card.
