Whimsy's Challenge July 25th

This weeks card was inspired by Whimsy's Challenge.  This week is create a card in a summer theme.
I used a couple cute digi's from Whimsy (Lexi's Beach Ball and Babe at the Beach) and I used the beach scenes images from Make it Colorful (the beach and sandcastle)  I used Irfanview to put all the images together.   I airbrushed my clouds and sand and used nestabilities for all my dies.

Aren't these two girls adorable?

Just wanted to show you my creation of today.

I used Mojo Monday's sketch for inspiration.  My sweet gorgeous girl is the rubber stamp I used.

Mermaids Galore & a new car!!

I am happy to say, I just bought a new car.  How exciting.  I got a 2010 Kia Soul and I LOVES it.

But now, back to card making.  I have recently made two mermaid cards. I just love how they turned out. I have been working hard on coloring hair with my copics and I am so excited about how well they look. I purchased these rubber stamps from C.C. Designs from the Sweet November line.

The embossing folder from the first image is from Tim Holtz. The shells are OLD and from my ancient stash. They were originally brown and ugly, which is why it probably too me so long to use them. Now I love them and barely have any left. I added a few dew drops to show her breathing bubbles and added pretty various green seed beads and glass for fun

Here's a close up of my little Ariel and her fun colored fin.

Sorry for the picture taking on this one. But Ariel is quite similar to the first image just with a different layout. I just LOVE that Martha Stewart shells punch. The embossing folder behind my little mermaid is the same as the first card. The main background is a Cuttlebug folder.

Punches and Edges Oh my!

Good morning all my favorite listeners!  Here is a bold sunny card with Whimsy's the Faerie Dandelion digi.  On this card I used 4 different spellbinders including circles, flowers, and pendants.  There is also a few punches and other dies used just to make it a huge mass of punches and edgers.  How fun right?

As of late I have been trying to use items that I own and have never used.  So on this card I added the sticker clouds, the pendant die cut, the main blossom spellbinders die cut, and the orange die cut.

Believe it or not, there are sparkles on the dandelion.  I could really use some photography lessons so I can show glitter off better.

You should try it and send in your created to the Whimsy Inspiration Blog!

Nautical Themed Birthday Card

I made this card for my husband's birthday.  I often do a cutesy sort of card and this year I really wanted to have a more masculine card.  I found this unlabeled unmounted boat in my arsenal of rubber images and ran with it. I've always wanted to do a nautical themed card and what better day to do it than today. The sketch idea came from A Die for a Sketch. I added a Tim Holtz gears die and added some fun blue eyelets, shells, and brad in the shape of a pocket watch. The image was colored with copics and sponged the clouds. The main embossing folder was from Couture Creations called World Fair.

I hope you have enjoyed this card as much as I do.  I just LOVE it.   The sentiment was created by me! I was so proud of myself!

Cute sisters hanging out together!

These cuties are from All that Scraps.   I used Inkscape to place these two on the All that Scraps bench. Aren't they just sweet?  I just love playing around with digital stamps and merging them and seeing what I can come up with and I also just absolutely LOVE coloring!

Recently my sister and I shared an awesome day together. We first hit the gym doing my favorite class-spinning. Then we headed over to Moose Jaw and had lunch at our very favorite wings and milkshakes cafe named Deja Vu and while we were there we learnt that they recently filmed an episode with the food network for the show You Gotta Eat Here. How cool is that! I knew it was awesome here and now everyone will too. Then we did some good ole fashion retail therapy which included a newer store called Oliv for you guessed it, olive oils and balsamic vinegar's. They sell over 92 flavors! Incredible right? And there is available taste testing of any of them or combinations of them. My sister and I both broke down and bought 3 flavors each. Then we trotted along to do what we came to Moose Jaw to do- canoeing. We had purchased a Groupon some time back and it was edging towards it's expiry so here we were, 2 girls tackling a new sport as I shall call it, for the first time. The service was regrettable, but once Chantal and I got our self taught skills moving along in the 30+C heat or 86 F for my American friends, we really enjoyed our sun screened selves. After a truly wonderful, yet dehydrating experience, we made our way back to main street and tried a little place Tutti Frutti which serves frozen yogurt and it was exactly what the doctor ordered!

But, heck I just noticed my ramblings of my perfect day with my sister and should show you my card with Cookies Emma and Cherry Emma from All that Scraps.

Here is a picture of Chantal and myself.  Chantal is the dark haired cuties eating who knows what.

Hope you enjoyed today's post!

Flourishes Triple Play Challenge

Well hello everyone.  I decided I wanted to join this weeks Flourishes Challenge so here is my project.

I hope you have enjoyed this simple, but at least I think, beautiful card.

I used versamark on an image and placed it on the black cs.  Then I colored the black cs with chalks.  I added a few white dots for water droplets.  I have 3 fun little blue flowers on the right and I believe the self adhesive ribbon was from Wal-mart.   Paper is from Stampin Up.

Thanks, Nicole.

Whimsy's Monochromatic Challenge July 11

This week's card was inspired from Whimsy's Challenge-monocromatic.  I won't lie, the first time I heard I was to participate in this challenge I was deeply worried, but it turns out I had nothing to worry about.  Actually, once I picked my paper and color the coloring came along pretty well.  The image is called Hoody by Whimsy.  The brown-ish flower was a white flower that I airbrushed.  The yellow prima flower I also airbrushed to tone down the brightness of it.  The flourishes are Tim Holtz flourishes dies.  I used a couple of nestabilities on this card.  The cute little clothes pins were also airbrushed.  The printed digital paper background was embossed (digi background by Mel Stampz).  There is a small touch of hand stitching on this card as well. The framed piece that hoody is on was deeply distressed first by airbrushing, then by misting perfect pearls for some sparkle.

Challenges I will be entered in:

Cutie Pie Challenge: Bling
Mema's Crafts: Anything goes

I'm an Aunt!

My brother in law and his fiance just had a beautiful baby girl.  Her name is Charlee Rose.  Isn't that such a cute name.  I made this card for them.  I can't seem to find the company name of the digi that is in the middle panel of the accordion type style of card, but the paper I picked up from my local Michael's Arts and Crafts store. The duck, bear and boots are from a The Greeting Farm set Oh Baby.  The sentiment was found online.

Below is a close up of the first page.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Whimsy's Challenge July 4th!

For this weeks Whimsy's challenge-anything goes, I used the new image called Birthday Dragon.   Don't you just adore him?  He was colored in with copics and my blender pen was used to add some texturing.  Smooch translucent was added to his wings and belly.  The cake was also colored in copics, but has brown liquid applique for the icing and gold smooch for the plate.  I used my Stampin up border punch. The background embossing on the yellow and green paper are from the cuttlebug happy birthday folder.

Hope you've enjoyed today's creation!

Whimsy Blog Hop

Wow... amazing isn't it? July 1st is already here!

Today is very special for a couple of reasons. One because it's my very first posting for Whimsy and second because it's also Whimsy's Digital Monthly Blog Hop!! Which means there are chances for YOU to win some images by commenting along the way of the hop! There will be 2 random blogs chosen to pick 2 winners from their comments and the winners gets to chose a digi of their choice. A grand prize winner of the hop will also be chosen and will receive 5 images of their choice!! Check out all of the teams blogs as their is some fantastic inspiration for you to check out. The hop will runs for one week and ends on Sunday July 8th at Noon EST.

Since you made it to me you probably came from Shannah and your next blog to visit to qualify for FREE images is Wendy. There are some really wonderful new digi releases this month which are available in the store today at 10 am.

For today's card I chose Lexi's Beach Ball. She is so adorable. She was colored with copics. The sand is two kinds of sand mixed together and then I placed some translucent smooth to make parts of it SPARKLE!! I paper punched Lexi's bathing suit. Her ball was also colored with copics, sparkle was added and then clear applique to give it dimension. A shell brad was added from my stash. The ribbon was airbrushed with green and yellow centers and I placed dew drops in the centers. I embossed the background with a cuttlebug folder and the edges were done with Martha Stewards shells corner piece. The centers from the shells I placed on the right side for fun.

A close up of the sand and airbrushed flowers!

Thanks for stopping in and have a great weekend!!
