Dreaming of warmer waters

In this brilliantly freezing winter weather that I am currently tortured in, all I have is to dream about vacations in a warmer destination and days that will inevitably, at some point come and warm up.  Until then, I have my sweet mermaid and cute little seahorses to get me by.

Regina’s snowfall making mountains from molehills   This article basically states what all Saskatchewan's already knew.  We got dumped on this winter.

Let's get on with my cute mermaid shall we. I used Sweet November's Fathom Calmsea stamps.  I used Tim Holtz rays embossing folder and used those cute dew drops.  I cut out the water grass, added some glitter here and there and used up some more of my random bits of ribbon.

I hope you have enjoyed today's cute card!

This card will be entered in:

See you all again soon, Nicole G

Nurse for you

Well... it's Wednesday. That means we are that much closer to a much needed weekend! This weekend some girls and I are heading out to a girls event in town.  Should be a lot of fun!

I love ATS's Nurse Nora image.  It's super fun to color and it's great for sick, sympathy or not well cards.  Every once in a while it would be nice to have someone come in and check in on you, especially when you are down and out.  This color combination is one of my absolute favorites and tend to gravitate towards them.

The image was colored, per usual with copics.  Her boots have some applique on them for dimension and then I used some of my dollar store pearls.  Love those things! The die used is Spellbinders #4.

Challenges I joined:

Whimsy: Stitch it

Paris!

If anyone knows me at all, they know that Paris is my dream destination.  I have wanted to go there since a child and love everything French.  My father is French Canadian and we used to visit his parents in Montreal, PQ and so I learnt French too.  I love the language, although I am quite rusty now.  So today's card is dedicated to my dream destination.

I used Stampin Up card stock.  I used the World Map embossing folder on the back and then the top embossing folder is called Royalty.  Both folders are by Couture Creations.  They have some amazing embossing folders. The mini Paris tag was created from Stampin Up's punch and all the images are also from Stampin Up.  The gold ribbon is from a stash a friend gave me as they were all her left over bits.  Perfect for a card maker!! I used Perfect Pearls for the gold highlighting and distressed the top layer.
