First try at Scrabble Tile Pendants
I have always wanted to try and make scrabble pendants. This year I finally did it. I made this for a couple of friends in the crafting world for part of their Christmas presents. These are super fun to make and completely addicting!
To make these watch the video below. You can do just about anything with these. I used other crafty stuff instead of flat printed images on my scrabble tiles.
On the left I colored the metal embellishment with copics. The background color is done with acrylic paint.
On the right side I used a flatback resin flower and used gold leaf for accenting. Once I had the applique down I dropped a few clock bits for a bit of a steampunky look. The bails were bought on ebay and are called aanraku bails. I used E-6000 glue to adhere them onto the tile.
In the near future I'll put up some more pictures of similar projects to this that my sister and I tried out.
I hope you think these are as cool as I do! And maybe even try to make some yourselves.

ReplyDeleteThese are so neat!! I still need to watch the video. I love how yours look!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are really cool! I like that you didn't use flat images on your pendants. They came out very pretty.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the vid but I like your 3D ones better! What a great idea... where did you find the bales... you think Michaels would have them??? Thanks for sharing! Kathi
ReplyDeleteI picked up the bales from Ebay!
DeleteCool! Like I need one more project, but why do I see myself on the lookout for scrabble tiles at the junk stores Lol
