Nautical Themed Birthday Card

I made this card for my husband's birthday.  I often do a cutesy sort of card and this year I really wanted to have a more masculine card.  I found this unlabeled unmounted boat in my arsenal of rubber images and ran with it. I've always wanted to do a nautical themed card and what better day to do it than today. The sketch idea came from A Die for a Sketch. I added a Tim Holtz gears die and added some fun blue eyelets, shells, and brad in the shape of a pocket watch. The image was colored with copics and sponged the clouds. The main embossing folder was from Couture Creations called World Fair.

I hope you have enjoyed this card as much as I do.  I just LOVE it.   The sentiment was created by me! I was so proud of myself!

  1. This is a wonderful card Nic! Love the image but all the texture and the waves, it all makes it look like the sea. And where on earth did you get that ship's wheel? I always wonder what makes people buy those things and then all of a sudden one day, they make a card and it's the perfect embellie!
